Artwork #5 - Atom Fetus - Oil on Wood - 24" x 24" - Original artwork - Abstract Expressionism
Title: Atom Fetus
Painting: Oil on wood.
Inspiration for the work: Science, Outer space and Nature.
Everything in the universe (except for energy) is made up of Atoms. To express the connection of outer space with nature on earth, I used an impression of a fetus and placed it within a spiral galaxy that borrows the characteristics of the Golden ratio in the shape of a nautilus shell, encompassing outer space and nature. As part of the 'Looking In, Looking Out' series, the concept is painted to resemble an x-ray.
The artwork was created by priming, layering and stamping black, navy blue and white oil paints onto a hard wood panel.
With a matte finish, it measures 24 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 1 inch deep.
The sides are painted black.
It is signed with white paint by the artist and ready to hang.
It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed and dated by the artist.
This piece belongs to a body of work I created in the first 5 years of professionally painting. Each year is a series. This is the 2013 series.
This body of work was not available for purchase until now.
'Atom Fetus' was completed December 28, 2013.
It is the 5th and final piece from the 2013 collection: Looking in, Looking out - series 1.
