Title: Greed Extinct

Painting: Oil on wood panel.

Inspiration for the work: World Affairs

The greed that I am referencing is greed for money, greed for power and greed for control. Extinct because it is not needed for the rest of humanity to thrive, because it can be the cause of great Evil in the world, such as political wars and tyrannical agendas. Monetary power and control is a human desire so I used red paint to represent blood - the human state and a white square with 3 red inner squares to metaphorically represent blood cells in a pure original 'born' condition. The splatter of paint in fiery yellow colors represent the chaos and turmoil surrounding the squares, that can come about because of greed.

With a matte finish, it measures 24 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 1 inch deep.

The sides are also painted red.

It is signed with white paint by the artist and ready to hang.

It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed and dated by the artist.

This piece belongs to a body of work I created in the first 5 years of professionally painting. Each year is a series. This is the 2014 series.
