Inspiration for the work:

A hologram is an optical illusion. The sky is like a hologram and it's filled with static transmissions and airwaves invisible to the eye.

An original oil painting, it was created by priming, layering and stamping black, white and grey oil paints onto a hard wood panel. Pressing a wood strip in various directions, created a grey grid section that is rippled with texture. The floating squares were made from stamping folded paper then feathering them gently with a paint brush. The misty grey line in the middle creates a horizon, distance and depth. It is an aerial view impression of the black night sky where black represents space.

With a matte finish, it measures 24 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep.

The sides are painted black.

It is signed in red paint and ready to hang.

It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed and dated by the artist.

This piece belongs to a body of work I created in the first 5 years of professionally painting. Each year is a series. This is the 2013 series.

This body of work was not available for purchase until now.

Hologram Sky was completed July 20, 2013.

It is the 1st piece out of 5 pieces created in the 2013 collection: Looking in, Looking out - series 1.
